CNBC Enjoys Best July Ratings Ever
Hey, remember before when I observed, with the aid of cutting-edge chart-making technology, that Fox Business Network will catch up to CNBC sometime in 2077, as long as CNBC doesn't make any headway of its own in the meantime?
Well, so much for that hope. Maybe it's the dramatic market conditions, but CNBC just announced that this month has been the best July ever for its Business Day programming block in total viewers (with an average of 301,000), and the best July since 2000 in the prime demographic of adults 25 to 54 (averaging 91,000).
As for the idea that FBN's growth, such as it is, has come at the expense of CNBC, the numbers say otherwise: the Business Day audience is up 25 percent since the News Corp. channel launched last October. □
