'NY Times' to Raise Newsstand Price

New York Times Co. president and CEO Janet Robinson, addressing analysts in the second-quarter earnings conference call, just said the paper will increase its newsstand price from $1.25 to $1.50 on Aug. 18. The Times's last increase, from $1 to $1.25, came a year ago.

The Wall Street Journal recently made plans to go from $1.50 to $2.00 on the newsstand starting Monday.
