Fox's Glick Goes Batty for 'Dark Knight'
America caught Batman fever over the weekend, but no one got it worse than Alexis Glick.
The Fox Business anchor saw an IMAX premiere of The Dark Knight last Wednesday and promptly blogged about it. Here's how her review starts out:
"BRILLIANT! BRAVISSIMO! BRAVO! ONE OF THE BEST COMIC-BOOK MOVIES EVER!"
Talk about business-friendly.
Glick (who landed at Fox Business after "her career skidded" at NBC, according to today's New York Times) lavishes her highest praise on Heath Ledger, who plays the Joker: "HE STEALS THE SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never have I seen a performance that I was so drawn to. He is OUTSTANDING. He sucks you in with his bizarre looks and witty one-liners.... If he does not win the Oscar I will be SHOCKED."
But she also has nice things to say about Christian Bale ("fantastic, as always"), Morgan Freeman ("quintessentially calm and suave and brilliant"), Aaron Eckhart ("a masterful performance") and Gary Oldman ("everything you want in a Lieutenant to make you feel save...an unbelievable performance").
She concludes her review "GO SEE IT."
Peter Travers, watch your back.
