Axe Falls at the 'Journal'; 50 Lose Jobs
As rumored, The Wall Street Journal is purging its New Jersey-based editorial ranks and consolidating its news operations in Manhattan, preparatory to a move from the financial district to Midtown. Managing editor Robert Thomson just gave word that around 50 editors in the South Brunswick office will lose their jobs, although they can apply for new ones to be created in Manhattan.
