Ex-Random House Chief Becomes Harvard Prof

What's a CEO to do when his German-owned media conglomerate decides his numbers aren't cutting it anymore? For Peter Olson, the recently-deposed chief executive of Random House, there's always the less-cutthroat world of academia. Starting in September, Olson, who headed the Bertelsmann-owned publishing house for a decade, will return to his alma mater, Harvard Business School, as a senior lecturer teaching strategy to first-year MBA students.

Donning professor's robes makes Olson a Harvard man four times over: In addition to his MBA, he also attended Harvard as an undergraduate and earned a degree from its law school. And his wife, former iVillage CEO Candice Carpenter (now Olson), is a Harvard Business grad as well. I'm thinking their kids may have a wee advantage come admissions time.
