-Professional networking site LinkedIn has closed a round of funding that values it at $1 billion, or more than News Corp. paid for MySpace. [NYT]

-Cablevision's Rainbow Media has acquired the Sundance Channel for $496 million. [MCN]

-Hearst is suing to prevent a new Las Vegas hotel and casino from calling itself Cosmo. [WWD]
