Idle Chatter: Weather Channel, Media General, more

-Either Time Warner or NBC Universal (with an assist from Blackstone Group) will probably buy the Weather Channel, for a price south of $4 billion. [WSJ]

-Media General, the newspaper and TV station group, is cutting its workforce by 11 percent, or 750 jobs. [BW]
