Idle Chatter: Fallon Amuse Himself on 'Late Night'

-NBC is expected to announce today that Jimmy Fallon will be the next host of Late Night, replacing Conan O'Brien, who will take over The Tonight Show, replacing Jay Leno, who will probably go to ABC or Fox and spend the rest of his life trying to make Jeff Zucker sorry. [NYT]

-Manhattan Media, which owns the New York Press and Avenue, is buying 02138, the Harvard magazine, and it plans to launch titles for alumni of the seven other Ivies. [NYT]

-The Christian Science Monitor might scale back publication to a weekly frequency. [BG]

-The New York Times bent its policy against taking ads from strip joints for Larry Flynt's Hustler Club. [NYP]

-Uma Thurman is suing Lancome for allegedly continuing to use her image in advertising after her contract ended. [WWD]
