The Takeaway: Microsoft-Yahoo Fallout

NYP: Yahoo shareholders, furious with management for rejecting Microsoft's $33-a-share bid out of hand, could make CEO Jerry Yang pay with his job.

WSJ:...which is probably why Yang is emphasizing how happy he would've been to do a deal, if only that stubborn Microsoft could've upped its offer by a few bucks.

NYT: In fact, increasing its offer by just another dollar a share probably would've made the difference. The failure to do do so leaves Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer looking plenty stupid.

SAI: Whatever second thoughts Yang may be having, Ballmer's ambivalence makes a return to the negotiating table unlikely. □
