-Why did The Hills stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt sit with Fortune at the White House Correspondents dinner? It turns out they and Fortune editor Andy Serwer go way back. [WWD]

-What appeared to be a heavily-promoted new TV series called Scarlet was actually a teaser campaign for a new line of LG-produced flat-screen TVs. I'm sure the 500 critics and others who attended the "premiere" were just tickled by the ruse. [AP]
