Idle Chatter: 'NYT' Layoffs, AOL Traffic, more

-The New York Times is going to have to lay off about 30 people to reach its goal of 100 fewer newsroom employees. A lot of them will come from the Metro desk. [NYP]

-AOL's content sites collectively grew 15 percent in traffic over the past year. [WSJ]

-Instant messaging, texting and LOLcats are producing a generation of lousy spellers. (I added the part about the LOLcats, but it seems related, no?) [Pew]

-PBS will air a Bill Moyers interview with Rev. Jeremiah "God Damn America" Wright tonight. [WaPo]. □
