Duly Quoted: Dan Rather Speaks
"[I]t's pretty clear [Katie Couric] got peeved at me after my criticism of the broadcast -- not of her, of the broadcast. They tried to put on the Today show in the evening and that didn't work, and I tried to call attention to the fact that it wasn't working. But it was clear that she was peeved."
-Dan Rather tells the Huffington Post's Rachel Sklar about his fraught relationship with his CBS Evening News successor. Reacting to reports that Couric may leave soon, Rather says he thinks Scott Pelley would be the best replacement. As for the most recent twist in his lawsuit against CBS, he inists, "Everything that was open to us before the judge rendered his decision is still open to us.". □
