The Sam Zell Show Comes to Town

Hey, look who it is! It's your old friend Sam Zell, in town for the Paley Center's Media Council breakfast, where he was the featured guest yesterday. In an interview with Paley Center president Pat Mitchell, the Tribune Co. chief said "newspapers have to be more in tune with what their readers want if they hope to survive in the 21st century," according to a news release. "He also predicted strong growth for Tribune's broadcast holdings."

The breakfast was off the record and not open to reporters, so it's unknown whether Zell reined in his usual potty-mouth antics in the presence of his peers.
