'Post' Beats 'Times' on Spitzer's Exit

The Eliot Spitzer sex scandal was The New York Times's story from the get-go, but the Post managed to break off a little piece for itself this morning, scooping the Times on the New York governor's resignation.

According to a Post spokeswoman, the paper reported Spitzer's decision at 8:38 this morning. The Times didn't get its own version up until 9:16.

And then there's Fox News, which scooped everyone by reporting that Spitzer was resigning on Monday afternoon -- before he'd even made up his mind to do so. □
