William F. Buckley Jr. Dies

William F. Buckley Jr., the founder of The National Review and a leading conservative thinker for more than half a century, has died at age 82. The cause of death is unknown, although he suffered from both diabetes and emphysema. Buckley wrote more than 45 books, according to his New York Times obituary, and his collected columns added up to more than 4.5 million words. And they were mostly big words, too. □
