-Hillary Clinton says the media picks on her, and on one point she's right: She usually gets asked the first question in debates. [NYT]

-A committee from The New York Times Co. will meet with four candidates for the board put forth by two hedge funds in a challenge to the Times Co.'s own nominees. The meeting "could be a first step" towards averting a proxy fight. [WSJ]

-Reed Elsevier probably lost a billion dollars by not selling its magazine unit a year earlier. [WWD]

-New York Times op-ed columnists aren't allowed to endorse candidates, but that doesn't mean they can't drop heavy hints. [NYO]
