Idle Chatter: $6M for the Lopez Twins? Really?

-People magazine is reportedly negotiating a deal to obtain the first pictures of Jennifer Lopez's twin babies for between $4 million and $6 million. That's right, Jennifer Lopez -- a celebrity nobody has cared about since, what, 2002? [Ad Age]

-Hendrik Hertzberg things The New York Times was off base in rehashing Barack Obama's youthful dabbling in drugs. [New Yorker]

-New York Observer owner Jared Kushner is launching a network of 50 political websites, one for each state. [NYT]

-Young voters are tuning in for election '08: "During the week of Feb. 5 voting, CNN's ratings among viewers aged 18 to 34 were up 232 percent over the same week in 2004. Fox was up 78 percent, and MSNBC was up a whopping 400 percent (although from a much smaller base)." [NYT]. □
