The Takeaway: Writers Strike, Day 92

AP: A formal deal to end the Writers Guild of America's strike could be hashed out by the end of this week at the rate things are going.

Variety: "[I]t's clear that the process has the wind at its back. The WGA is hoping to have a draft contract to present to the boards of the WGA West and WGA East and negotiating committee by Friday, and to hold informational meetings with members of both branches over the weekend."

Nikki Finke: "So now is the time for everyone to back off. That's right, BACK OFF. And to let the WGA leadership talk to its board and also its membership without outside interference."

New York Times: Oscar nominees thinking of skipping the ceremony in solidarity with the writers were told they have to show up to win. Ha, ha! That's just a passive-aggressive joke! ...
