Idle Chatter: Wal-Mart, DGA, Chris Matthews...

-Wal-Mart, the biggest seller of magazines, in the U.S., is dropping 1,000 titles from its shelves. Big surprise: Wal-Mart shoppers aren't big New Yorker readers. [NYP]

-So much for those hopes that the Director's Guild of America would use its leverage to help the writers get a better deal. DGA has reached an agreement with the producers after only six days of negotiations. [THR]
