'Maxim' Founder Dennis Buys News Site
Felix Dennis is on the move again. The British mogul who brought Maxim to the U.S. and sold it last summer has acquired thefirstpost.co.uk, a current affairs website. All 12 of its staffers will become Dennis employees.
A press release announcing the purchases emphasizes the synergies between the site and The Week, the news magazine Dennis publishes in both the U.S. and U.K. Thefirstpost.co.uk reaches over 1 million unique visitors a month, according to the release.
It won't be the last you hear from Dennis this year. Sources say he is currently deliberating among several options for expanding his media presence in the U.S. beyond The Week. Although there's no set timeline, space is being reserved in the magazine's new offices for employees to be hired for the venture, whatever it ends up being. Is that vague enough for ya?. □
