The Takeaway: Writers Strike, Day 22

Some actual news today in the labor dispute between the Hollywood studios and the Writers Guild: The two sides will resume talks today for the first time since the work stoppage began on Nov. 5. The talks are scheduled to last three days, and they're being held, according to the Hollywood Reporter, in an "undisclosed location."

In other strike coverage...

Variety: Readers overwhelmingly think the writers are kicking the studios' butts on the public relations front.

New York Times: The writers are in agreement on one thing: This has totally been the funnest strike ever.

Also in the Times: Live-wire entertainment reporter Nikki Finke says her traffic has tripled, to 1 million page views a day, since the strike started. And no wonder, with an attitude like hers: "A scoop is better than sex."

ABC News: With TV joke writers standing down, big-target candidates like Hillary Clinton are breathing easier. □
