A Rift in the House of Murdoch

Could there be a light at the end of the tunnel for foes of Rupert Murdoch's right-wing media machine? According to the Financial Times, the News Corp. chairman recently hinted that his son James, currently the favorite to succeed him, doesn't share his sensibilities.

Murdoch told a Parliamentary committee that he had pushed his son to make Sky News, which he oversees, more like the Fox News Channel in its presentation, but to no avail. "Nobody at Sky listens to me," he complained. FT also notes that James has quibbled with his father about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, among other matters.
