The Takeaway: Writers Strike, Day 5
New York Post: CBS Paramount and 20th Century Fox Television are threatening to sue showrunners -- writer-producers who oversee their shows -- if they don't return to work.
New York Times: A group of 100 showrunners agreed yesterday to resume work if the Writers Guild and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers will re-start negotiations.
Nikki Finke: However, the showrunners also agreed to stand behind anyone in their ranks who gets sued for striking.
Los Angeles Times: Meanwhile, five talent agencies are leaning on the Writers Guild to make a deal, soon.
Page Six: Ellen DeGeneres is placing her loyalty to her fans above her loyalty to her writers.
