Time Inc.'s Klingensmith Retires

Michael Klingensmith, a Time Inc. executive vice president and one of chairman Ann Moore's chief lieutenants, is retiring. A company-wide memo announced the move earlier today. Klingensmith, 54, oversees a large swath of Time Inc.'s operations, including strategic planning, production and legal. Two years ago, he added IT, Synapse (a subscription marketing unit) and the Time Warner Book Group to his portfolio.

UPDATE: Ad Age has the story, and the memo.
