Idle Chatter: McCain, Bob Woodruff, Facebook...

-In a new ad, John McCain boasts that he was in a Vietnamese prison while Hillary Clinton was at Woodstock. Related: Mitt Romney says he was also in a Vietnamese prison. [The Trail]

-ABC's Bob Woodruff on the upside of getting blown up: "My wife has even said I was kind of a jerk sometimes, and now I'm not." [NYT]

-"As the Post first reported," Microsoft is taking a 1.6 percent stake in Facebook, giving the social network site a $15 billion valuation. Of course, the Post actually reported that Microsoft would take a 5 to 10 percent stake, but whatever. [NYT]

-Speaking of the Post, here's columnist Adam Reilly on Richard Johnson: "You might think that the Post would be inclined to entrust the Page Six reins to someone less (ahem) controversial." [Boston Phoenix]

-It looks like Israel's largest cable provider will drop CNN -- in favor of Al Jazeera. [Jerusalem Post via FishbowlNY]
