Yee-haw! Imus Cowboys Up
Okay, so maybe Don Imus's return won't be quite as triumphant as all that. TV Decoder, a New York Times blog, says the exiled shock jock, in need of a TV network to simulcast his expected WABC show, is in discussions with RFD TV, "a satellite and cable channel aimed primarily at farming communities."
Compared to MSNBC, which carried the Imus in the Morning simulcast until it dropped him in April, RFD "would offer something of a lower profile," notes a deadpan Jacques Steinberg.
Well, at least it would give Imus an excuse for being the only guy on Central Park West in a cowboy hat.
Check out the website for "Rural America's Most Important Network," as RFD calls itself, and get a load of those great program titles: Superior Livestock Auction, Jasper the Mule, Little Britches Rodeo. My favorite, for some reason, is The Horse Show with Rick Lamb.
