Don Imus Comeback Almost Complete

Look who's almost back! It's our old pal Don Imus. Newsday reports the grizzled radio vet is "close to finalizing a contract" with Citadel Communications, which owns WABC in New York.

So, let's see: A junior editor who failed to bear in mind the differing maintenance needs of black and white hair is out of a job, but a national celebrity who called black scholar-athletes prostitutes, and who derided a black reporter as a "cleaning lady," is a hot hiring prospect.

What's the lesson here? If you're going to make racially-insensitive remarks, make sure you've done it before, and on purpose. Apparently the right to offend is grandfathered.
