Post Sneers at "Peg-Legged" Mills
Could somebody please inform the New York Post that the anti-P.C. backlash was 10 years ago, and it wasn't even all that funny then? An item in today's Page Six uses the term "peg-legged" to describe Heather Mills, Paul McCartney's estranged wife, who has a prosthetic leg. I'm sure editor Richard Johnson and his gang had a delightful little snicker at their own naughtiness. "Peg-legged! Ha! That'll teach those cripples to go putting on airs. Serves her right for only having one leg."
I gather the Post doesn't care all that much for the patronage of disabled people -- or gay people, for that matter -- but you'd think professional pride alone would prevent the Page Six crew from printing this kind of sub-Maxim juvenalia. Richard, you're a middle-aged man with kids, not a 12-year-old. Grow up.
