Gonzales, Doing What He Does Best

Nice to see that Alberto Gonzales -- "a man of decency, integrity, and principle," according to President Bush -- isn't changing his ways just because he's leaving the Justice Department:

As late as Sunday afternoon, Mr. Gonzales himself was denying through his spokesman that he was quitting. The spokesman, Brian Roehrkasse, said Sunday that he telephoned the attorney general about the reports of his imminent resignation "and he said it wasn't true -- so I don't know what more I can say."

Yeah, that's the Gonzales we've come to know.

N.B. The Times spelled his name right for once!
