HB-Oh, No, This Can't Be Happening
Wow, it sucks to be HBO right now.
I don't have much to add to my colleague Tim Swanson's analysis, except to say that those Showtimers who coined "HB-Over" must have loved Mike D'Angelo's piece in the September Esquire. Comparing the two premium cable channels, he declares, "[S]uddenly, if I could watch just one, I'd go with Showtime." Ouch.
Also, Time Warner: If you want people to forget about the whole Chris Albrecht debacle—and I hear there are aspects to the story that HBO managed to hush up before they went public—maybe you'd consider taking his bio off your site?
