Election 'News' Crowding Out War

It's a sad day when comedians focus on the news that matters and professional journalists don't.

A new Pew study find that all the premature coverage of the 2008 race comes at a cost: The same newspaper inches and TV minutes that were devoted to the Iraq War earlier this year are now being given over to in depth reports on how Hillary Said Something Mean About Barack, And Then Barack Responded With A Mean Remark Of His Own.

Meanwhile, who's stepping up with original reporting from Iraq? That's right: The Daily Show.

Maybe the reason so many people now get their news from comedy shows is because they can't find it anywhere else?
