Transcending English

The Metaphor of the Day award goes to Alex Harrowell:

The European issue in Britain has traditionally swung across the political spectrum, like a cow on a rolling deck, blundering into political parties and sending them flying like skittles.

Harrowell, by the way, also manages to use the word "rocambolesque," which wipes the floor with Barry Ritholtz's "gravamen", and makes my own "postlapsarian" look positively feeble. I'm beginning to think that Al Neuharth has a point with that "interesting bullshit" thing.
