Shari It Didn't Work Out

It's not easy, being the daughter of a media mogul and working for your dad. Elisabeth Murdoch left News Corp to start her own company, Shine. Today we learn that Shari Redstone is leaving Viacom. Who's next? Christie Hefner?

All three are highly-accomplished businesswomen who are equally blessed and cursed by the shadow of their fathers. Murdoch seems to have blossomed outside the family shop, while Hefner has done so within it. Maybe Redstone will steer a middle course if she takes over her father's National Amusements theater chain and runs it as an independent entity.
