Health Reform: What Changes Immediately
Most of the effects of President Obama's health reform will be rolled out over the next decade but a handful of changes will take effect almost immediately.
Here some things that take place this year:
Small businesses can begin receiving subsidies to provide coverage for their employees. Small employers with no more than 25 workers would receive tax credits up 35 percent of the contributions toward employees' health insurance premiums for tax years 2010 through 2013.
The 10 percent tax on indoor tanning salons will go into effect immediately.
Insurance companies will no longer be able to deny coverage to children with pre-existing condtions. Children will be able to stay on their folks' insurance policy until they turn 26.
