Doris Salcedo's crack in the Tate's Turbine Hall continues to confound visitors.

If you thought it was shocking when Chris Burden had himself nailed to the hood of a Volkswagen and called it performance art, consider this: There's a movement of so-called bioartists who use living tissue to create, for example, living skin sculptures.

A couple has donated their collection of more than 950 quilts to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, which has created the International Quilt Study Center. The center opens on March 30, 2008.
