The Tate's Holiday Bonus

The British government is giving the Tate Modern £50 million ($101.4 million) to help pay for the museum's proposed £215 million ($435.8 million) extension designed by Swiss architects Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron. The development is intended to provide more space for art in the Tate's collection and accommodate the millions of visitors that pass through the galleries each year.
