Liz Taylor gets to keep her van Gogh.

Madeleine Grynsztejn is leaving her position as senior curator of painting and sculpture at SFMoMA to become the director of the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago.

The fundraisers at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston have been busy. The museum topped the Chronicle of Philanthropy's ranking of U.S. arts organizations in terms of private donations made during 2006 — it raised $185.8 million. Second on that list was New York's MoMA (with $133.5 million). All in all, patrons of the arts gave $2.5 billion last year, up by 17.5% from 2005.
