Lyle Will Consider Fisk/Crystal Bridges Proposal

Chancellor Ellen Hobbs Lyle has agreed to consider the proposal set forth by Fisk University and Alice Walton's Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, much to the dismay of the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum. On Monday, the O'Keeffe asked Chancellor Lyle to shoot down the proposal, which would see the Nashville, Tennessee university's Stieglitz Collection spend half of its time in Bentonville, Arkansas (home to Crystal Bridges) for $30 million. The O'Keeffe wants the collection, donated to Fisk by Georgia O'Keeffe, the artist whose estate the museum now represents, returned to Santa Fe, New Mexico. The O'Keeffe hasn't lost all cause for its crusade — after consideration of the proposal, Chancellor Lyle could still deny it. Now, it's just more sit and wait...
