Rulers of the (Art) World: Who's Moving Up and Who's Ancient History
ArtReview's annual Power 100 issue graced newsstands in the U.K. last week. Copies are supposedly available stateside this week, but you can also look at the list here and here. The idea, as you might have gathered, is to rank the top 100 movers and shakers in the art world.
Some notable additions:
Guy & Myriam Ullens. Their Ullens Center for Contemporary Art opens this November in Beijing.
Bernard Arnault. Gaining on archrival François Pinault (who remained #1).
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan. Crown prince of Abu Dhabi, the emirate with plans for outposts of both the Louvre and the Guggenheim.
Some notable omissions (from last year):
Google. A wild card last year.
Neo Rauch. The popular Leipzig School painter's show at the Met couldn't keep him on the list?
