A Glimpse of the Zoo
I did a first run-through of the Zoo Art Fair, Frieze's younger cousin, early this evening. First impressions: It's much more relaxed and less stuffy than Frieze. The two staffers at Ibid projects were wearing matching heads that belonged to animal costumes — sure, Gavin Brown had an artist dress like a panda, but he wasn't in any getup, himself — and I heard an employee at another gallery mention that it was "beer o'clock." But I had to look a lot harder for work that I actually thought was interesting. More and better details tomorrow.
Also for tomorrow, more photos — my camera battery died before I'd spent a full hour at Frieze today.
