Conrad Black's Mug Shot

Before he became the poster boy for corporate greed, one-time media baron Conrad Black had his portrait done by Andy Warhol.

Now, two of those silk-screens are headed to the auction block, with the proceeds going to the creditors of Ravelston Corp. Ltd., the investment company Black chaired, and Black is ponying up about $400,000 to save a third portrait from the debt collectors. A fourth belongs to the Vancouver Art Gallery and goes on view at the Winnipeg Art Gallery on Friday as part of "Warhol: Larger Than Life."

A famous or well-regarded provenance can influence what a collector is willing to pay for an artwork. What about an infamous one?
