Mass MoCA Backs Down

The Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art just announced that it won't open Christoph Büchel's installation Training Ground for Democracy to the public, despite a judge's ruling on Monday that it could do so. Background here.

They'll start removing all of the installation's components — including a two-story house and an oil tanker — immediately.

Then why engage in a power struggle with the artist in the first place?
