Dalí and the Egg

Again, "Page Six" surprises us with some interesting news:

They say that food historian Carolin Young is attempting to create a 10-foot-tall boiled egg at Oxford University. She presented a maquette of what would be the world's largest boiled egg at the 25th Oxford Symposium on Food & Cookery last September.

How does this have anything to do with the art world?

Her scheme is based on a proposal that Salvador Dalí made to his dealer, Julien Levy, in 1938. Eggs were a recurring theme in the Surrealist's work.

Depending on Young's timing, Dalí's idea come to fruition might be a good mascot for a fragile art market.
