November Consignments Update

Another marquee piece for the November post-war and contemporary sales in New York: Christie's is offering Gerhard Richter's Düsenjäger (Jet Fighter) from 1963 with an estimate of "in excess of $10 million."

Here's how the race for choice consignments between auction house archrivals Christie's and Sotheby's is shaping up:

Christie's

Andy Warhol's Liz (Colored Liz), Estimate: In excess of $25 million

Jeff Koons' Blue Diamond, Estimate upon request, but the New York Times has it pegged to approximately $12 million

Gerhard Richter's Düsenjäger (Jet Fighter), Estimate: In excess of $10 million


Sotheby's

Jean-Michel Basquiat's Untitled (Electric Chair), Estimate: $8 million - $10 million

Andy Warhol's Campbell's Soup Can (Pepper Pot), Estimate: $8 million - $12 million
