Morning Hemlines: Gap, Ann Taylor, Bon-Ton, Birkin, Vivienne Tam

Gap's sales were down in the second quarter, but profits still rose 51 percent thanks for cost cutting. The company also named Tom Wyatt president of the Old Navy division. As interim, he's been shifting the brand's focus to moms. (WSJ)

Vivienne Tam is designing a limited-edition computer with Hewlett Packard. (Fashion Week Daily) A couple of years ago, she created cellphone cases for Motorola, and an MP3 Walkman.
