Morning Hemlines: Jones, Tod's, LVMH, Guyliner, Boscov's

Shares of Jones Apparel rose 11.7 percent after the firm posted second-quarter results. Next up for Jones: rolling out the brand's own retail. (WWD)

Tod's SpA, the Italian parent company of Tod's, Hogan and Roget Vivier leather goods, reported a 9.7 percent increase in first half revenues. Tod's chairman and CEO Diego Della Valle called the numbers "remarkable, considering the challenging environment. (WWD)

Clearly, leather goods aren't suffering a recession. LVMH defied the global crisis, by reporting profits of 1.4 billion dollars in the first half, rising 6.8 percent. We can hear them uncorking the champagne now...(WSJ)
