Halston: More From Behind The Scenes

The April issue of the UK Harper's Bazaar has several nice tidbits on Marco Zannini's debut collection for Halston.

1. Marco Zanini designed the whole collection in a week.

2. "Everything was meant to be simple and banal," he said. Which is good if you only have a week, right?

3. Tamara Mellon discovered Zanini thanks to a tip from Hamish Bowles, of American Vogue. (American Vogue should really launch a recruiting consultancy -- they play a hand in nearly every major design appointment made. Or try to.)

4. Zanini prepared a "little project" for his first dinner with Tamara that was accompanied by a Lou Reed soundtrack. I guess dinner wasn't in a restaurant then. I mean, how distracting would that be for fellow diners?

5. This is kind of unclear, but from what I gather Zanini was looking at coverage from the show while being photographed by Harper's. Clare Coulson writes that Rachel Zoe "pops up on-screen to add her thoughts on the relaunch of the brand -- thoughts that Zanini clearly thinks are irrelevant" and "Zanini angrily orders his PR to remove Rachel Zoe from the internet." I'd love to know how the PR pulled that one off.
