And the Carla Bruni-Sarzoky Award For French Fashion Goes To ...

Hermes! You've got to envy the options of the French political wives. So many more home-grown fashion choices than their UK or US counterparts. Carla seems to be getting a Hermes habit of late. She wore a short white dress for her wedding to the French President and a purple, one-shoulder gown for her first official dinner at the Elysee Palace for Israeli President Shimon Peres. And, get this, she bought them both herself at the George V store. Lanvin designer Alber Elbaz was also at the dinner, probably doubled-over with jealousy. □
