Practical Princess: Elika Gibbs
Elika Gibbs, the woman who organizes the closets of Tamara Mellon, has launched a DIY wardrobe essential kit for everyone. What do you need to organize your own closet? The Practical Princess kit includes suit/jacket hangers, suit/skirt hangers, suit hangers with clips, trouser hangers, shoe drawers, folding template, and 2 free samples of boot inserts. The Capsule Kit costs 85.00 UK Pounds. The secret of a well hung closet is having specific hangers, so that the clothes hang equally, Gibbs says. As she sees it, "if the clothes look beautiful, it will be easier to dress yourself. Instead of food that is blended up you will always want to eat the food if it is presented beautifully."
Have bigger wardrobe problems than that? She also works with Vogue stylist to Char Pilsher to put together outfits from your own clothes. Then they put the outfits on a dummy and photograph them, so even in the early dawn morning, clients can figure out what goes with what. If you're lacking a certain something, she and Char will go out and find it for you. Are there any dirty little secrets in the closets of women so rich they can afford this service? "Yes, I see Topshop and other high street pieces in there as well."
Everyone likes a bargain.
