Move over Neiman Marcus, Costco becomes the malls new main attraction. With the closing of almost 90 mall-based stores with the Federated-May Merger of 2005, Costco becomes latest anchor.(WWD)

Gucci goes to the United Nations, with the opening of its biggest flagship store in New York. The evening named "A Night to Benefit Raising Malawi and UNICEF" will take place at the 18-acre U.N. site on Manhattan's East River which is considered international territory and doesn't belong to any one country or government. After 5 years, Manhattan's Fashion Walk of Fashion welcomes new designers up for consideration. Previous designers to have been honored include Marc Jacobs, Calvin Klein, Bill Blass, and Geoffry Beene. The practice stopped because organizers feared they'd run out of candidates.
